1600 Start

Jackson Pearce (2nd from R) gets out clean at the start of the State Sectional 1600 at Heritage High in Conyers on April 29.

NAHS competed in the 6A Sectional A at Heritage H.S. in Conyers on April 29th and senior Jackson Pearce and junior Kyla Lestagez qualified for the state meet.  Pearce qualified in both the 800 and 1600 for the second time.  Lestagez is a first-time qualifier.  Her time of 12.35 in the 100 is only .10 off of Porche Byrd’s school record set in 2007.   Pearce will compete on May 11th at the State Meet in Carrollton in the 1600 at 7:00 PM.  Both Lestagez (100) and Pearce (800) will run the prelims in the afternoon on May 12th with the finals on May 13th.   Click here for the State Meet Schedule.
