Senior Jackson Pearce who had set his 1600 personal best at the previous two Rumble in the Jungle’s at Parkview H.S. saved the best for last. On March 31, he took down Malik Epps’ (’12) five year old 1600 meter school record by .14 going 4:19.33 to finish second. Freshman Aubrey Miller scored by coming in 7th in the 3200 in a PR 13:04 to establish a new girls’ freshman mark knocking out the 13:11 that Kate Breeden set at this meet last year. Sophomore Mac Bloodworth scored by finishing 8th in the 800 in a PR 2:01.

Jackson Pearce breaking the school 1600 record at Parkview’s Rumble in the Jungle on Mar. 31st. Pearce blasted his last lap in one minute flat. Behind Pearce is Chase Kennedy of East Jackson (third place) who is one of the top 1600/3200 runners in the state. An ecstatic Coach Sanderlin can be seen behind the hurdle enjoying the historic moment.
